There is so much to love about Washington. I knew from the first time I visited I wanted to live here. Although my husband and I ended up finding the house and land we wanted in Chocowinity, it was close enough!
Downtown on the waterfront is one of my absolute favorite places to be. I am in the heart of the city but surrounded by all the beauty nature has to offer. My family and I especially love to walk the waterfront after having dinner at one of the many great restaurants downtown. #ere’s nothing like watching the sun sink down into the river creating some of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever see.
As a mother, I love all the family friendly activities Washington has to offer. Brown Library always has the best youth services programming; our favorite is toddler story time on Tuesdays. We also love playing at the many playgrounds that Washington offers and we cannot wait to try out the new splash pad this Summer!
What ultimately drew me to Washington was the smalltown charm, but it had a lot to offer. I grew up in a small town and I love the slow-paced lifestyle that comes with small town living, however, I was always wanting a little more. With Washington I feel I get just that. Maybe that is why it is often referred to as “little Washington.” It just has a little more to offer than one might expect from a small town on the Pamlico River.
